The objectives of the study were to determine the relationship between -federalization and peace building in Banadir state, Somalia. To examine the type of federalization adopted in Banadir state, Somalia. And to determine the mode of federalization which can enhance peace building in Banadir state, Somalia. In the scope of the study, this study examined the data between 2005 to 2010, in terms of geographical Scope, the study was carried out in Banadir state, the capital city of Somalia. The study employed a correlation design to identify the interrelationship between federalism and peace building in Benadir State, Somalia. Sample Size the study consisted of 80 participants of civil society, government members, and civil servants. All are most important sources regarding of their position, experience and qualifications. The study employed both purposive sampling technique and stratified sampling technique. Questionnaire tool was administered to collect quantitative data from the selected respondents, besides greater convenience in the context of time, stability, uniformity and consistency. The finding of the research indicates that there is positive relationship between federalism and peace building in Benadir State. The study recommends that unitary government is best in Benadir State because resource allocation is the responsibility by the national government this mitigates conflicts based on utilization of the resource as well as territory conflicts, and also it’s less cost to adopt compared to federalism.
