- ItemA mobile application for dissemination of antenatal and immunization information(Kampala International University, School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT), 2013-12) Namakka, MaimunaThis study is a result of an academic research entitled "Design and Implementation of a Mobile Application System for Dissemination of National Antenatal and Immunization Information in Mbale regional hospital, Uganda". The purpose of this study was to test the null hypothesis of no significant difference between the existing and the proposed system for dissemination of national immunization and antenatal information in Mbale regional hospital, Uganda; to generate new information from the existing data and to use Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to validate the concept of the study. The objectives of this study are i) to identify the profile of the respondents in terms of gender, age, education level and category. ii)To determine the level of performance and efficiency of the present dissemination of national immunization and antenatal information in Mbale regional Hospitai,Uganda.iii) To establish the level of performance of proposed mobile application system for dissemination of national immunization and antenatal information To establish the relationship between the level of performance and efficiency in the existing dissemination of national immunization and antenatal information and the proposed mobile application system for dissemination of national immunization and antenatal information. The study population was 240 people while the sample size of 150 people with 30 staff members and 120 pregnant mothers and parents of children from Mbale regional hospital. Questionnaire was used in collecting both primary and secondary data. SPSS was used to analyze all data. The data were processed using frequency distribution, mean, and t-Test. The findings of the study revealed that there is a difference between the existing systems for dissemination of national antenatal and immunization information and the proposed mobile application system for dissemination of national immunization and antenatal information in Mbale regional hospital in terms of performance. The hospital responded positively to the new system and incase it's to be implemented; users of the system should be trained on how to go about it. It is recommended that the ministry of health also implements this system to test the benefit of it within the hospital. This study used the Design science research which involves the design of innovative artifacts and the analysis of the use and/or performance of such artifacts to improve and understand the behavior of aspects of Information Systems
