- ItemProcurement process management and bank performance:(Kampala International University, College of Economics and Management, 2019-10) Mirembe, HellenThe purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between procurement process management and Bank Performance with specific reference to Bank of Baroda Kansanga branch. It was guided by three objectives, that included i) examining the impact of procurement planning on bank financial performance; ii) analyzing the different procurement controls and how they influence bank performance; iii) the relationship between procurement management and financial performance. The study comprised of a population of 70 respondents from which a sample size of 60 respondents were selected, and a descriptive research design was used to collect data from 60 respondents using self-administered questionnaires and interview guide as the main data collection instruments. The impact of procurement planning on bank financial performance was rated high, hence implying that procurement planning is one of the primary functions of procurement with a potential to contribute to the success of Bank of Baroda operations and improved financial performance, the influence of procurement controls and how they influence bank performance was found to be low which implies that the effective procurement controls have no significant influence on the financial success of Bank of Baroda Kansanga branch in meeting its revenue target performance levels, and the two variables are positive and significantly correlated (r value=.395 and sigo.000). The researcher concluded that the Bank of Baroda Kansanga branch highly practices procurement planning in all activities. Procurement planning should offer guidance for the development of procurement documents in relation to financial performance and method selection, there is a positive significant relationship between procurement management and financial performance in the Bank of Baroda Kansanga branch in Kampala Uganda. Recommendations based on findings were that; the Bank of Baroda Kansanga branch, should put in place effective budget plans on all suppliers’ records. In this procurement planning process, issues surrounding delivery dates, contract compliance, and customer service issues must be resolved internally before going out to contract. Prospective researchers are encouraged to research on the following areas; Procurement methods and quality of procurement services in Bank of Baroda Kansanga branch, procurement process and performance of Bank of Baroda Kansanga branch.
