The study was guided by the following research objectives; the first objective was to determine the profile of the respondents in terms of: age, gender, highest educational qualification, and work experience and the second and third objective was to determine the level of employment and the level of women’s empowerment of the selected local NGO5 and the fourth objective was the relationship between employment and women’s empowerment in selected local NGOs in Mogadishu, Somalia. The study was conducted through descriptive survey and correlation research design by using quantitative approach with two parts questionnaire and 100 respondents was selected from selected local NGOs Mogadishu Somalia. The study utilized descriptive statistics, frequencies and percentage; tables were used in the presentation of data. And also Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was applied to test correlation between employment and women’s empowerment. The researcher found that the employment and women’s empowerment in selected local NGOs in Mogadishu Somalia are significantly correlated. The researcher recommended that local NGOs must be put in place the policies that guarantee women’s rights and protect women in the workplace, the home and the community.
