    Analysis of the law on 'the rights of accused persons and their enforceability in Uganda case study of Kampala district

    The study sought to critically analyze law on rights of the accused persons and their enforceability in Uganda a case study of Kampala district, aimed to identify the legal framework regarding the rights of the accused persons, to examine the effectiveness of the legal framework regarding the rights of the accused persons and to assess the weaknesses of the law on the law regarding rights of the accused persons. The study used descriptive case designs using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Quantitative design was used because it was more accurate in terms of data collection and more reliable in terms of research results. This meant that quantitative research design expressed numerical information captured during the study, which could not be easily expressed in words. Qualitative research design was used because it helped in analyzing the data. That was interpreted by words in order to give the meaning to the presented numerals The researcher recommends that Ugandan government must the separation of powers between the executive, legislature and judiciary which is so critical in upholding democracy and the rule of law
