    Influence of Land Use Practices on Soil Degradation in Kilembe, Kasese District, Uganda

    Soil is a complex ecosystem whose economic value is quite often under estimated or not established at all, especially in the third world countries where people consider it as dirt, (Lal, 1995). Because of that, soil especially in third world countries are poorly handled and managed, leading to low productivity. Soil degradation be recognized through some indicators such as soil erosion, revegetation, decline in biodiversity increased floods, etc. In Uganda, soil is important because most people depend on it because of the various roles it plays. Most soils in Uganda are highly valued in that even most people reach an extent of killing one another because of it. As most people in Uganda depend much on soil, a lot of impact is put on it, depending on various activities on it, leading to its degradation.
