Abstract
The purpose of !he study was to examine the impact of culture on girl child education . The objectives were to establish the relationship between culture and girl child education . The study also examined the causes of gender disparities. The study used across -sectional survey design to analyze both quantitative and qualitative. The researcher collected data from 3 schools with a population of 150 respondents. The researcher used a questionnaire instrument, observation and interview guide to collect data. The findings indicated that culture has a major impact on girl child education. Due lo culture majority of the girl child do not enroll in schools or some delay which affects their academic performance. The findings also indicated that the major causes of gender disparities are culture, ignorance, poor attitude and perception which greatly affect girl child education. The researcher recommended that the government should encourage more girl child to study regardless of culture beliefs and norms. The schools should also encourage parents to educate the girl child in order to create gender balance in educational sector.
