Abstract
This study aims on researching and analyzing the law and enforcement of the Uganda national bureau
of standards act in regards to consumer protection with the of indicating a way forward by looking at
the historical evolution of consumer protection plus the writing of other writers on this particular
subject among others, the study will also unveil the historical justification ,adaptation and growth of
consumer protection in Uganda with the aim of protecting consumer and maintaining standards of
goods and services ,
The study will also involve the analysis of different consumer protection laws that have the element
of consumer protection and their applicability in Uganda, the authority or agencies responsible in the
enforcing sand handling consumer disputes, functions and powers of those organizations, their
weaknesses and then give relevant recommendations on some of the provisions that will need to be
amended and give conclusions
