Abstract
This paper aims at identifying the causes of school drop out of female pupils in primary school case study of schools in Embobut zone, Tirap Division, Marakwet East district. The study was descriptive where stratified sampling was used to select population. It employed a total sample of 50 respondents as indicated in chapter four. Data were analyzed and presented using statistical methods of data presentation where percentages were integrated into tables. Direct observation interviews and visiting of different schools were used in data collection and here several people were asked or interviewed for information. It was discovered that in spite of the contributions of the government in its program of Free Primary Education, the drop out rate of pupils from school in the schools is still on a high rate. It was suggested that in order to overcome the problem, there is a need for the government to come in and sensitize people about education.
