Abstract
The study set to examine the relationship between Human Rights Institutions and Protection of Women’s Rights in Puntland Somalia. The study objectives were to investigate the contribution of Human Rights Institution on education rights of Women in Garowe, Puntland Somalia, to examine the effect of Human Rights Institution on livelihood rights of Women in Garowe, Puntland Somalia and to assess the effect of Human Rights Institution on health rights of Women in Garowe, Puntland Somalia. The data was collected from selected Human rights institutions located in Garowe, Puntland Somalia from the Humanitarian service providers and community. The data was collected from 133 respondents quantitatively and qualitatively from 10 respondents who were community leaders and leaders of humanitarian services, All the respondents were selected using purposive sampling technique. The study based on the first objective concluded that Human Rights Institutions had a significant effect on protection of education rights of Women, in Garowe, Puntland Somalia. The study concluded that education services need to be developed to better suit the protection of women in the education environment. Secondly the study concluded that Human Rights Institutions were rarely prevailing towards protection of women’s livelihood rights, the women in Garowe, Puntland provided with less livelihood hence conclude that limited livelihood led to the poor state of girl child as parents go unable to access the required resources. Thirdly, the study concluded that Human Rights Institutions improvements were much needed to be developed if the women protection was to be enhanced. The study concluded that protection of women’s health rights of Human Rights Institutions development can enhance the development and performance of the organizations and capacity for the women. The study recommend for the more diversified interventions regarding the education services in order to boost protection of Children in schools since these was quite poor. There is need for establishment of more schools and provision of scholastic materials to enable the children wellbeing in schools. There is need for UNHCR to improve physical security for the girl child in order to enhance the being in the study area with safety.
