Abstract
This study examined the major causes of stress, its main impacts and its overcoming measures among students of St. Mary~s secondary School Mutungo. The main objective will be to identify the major impact of stress on academic performance of students in selected schools of Nakawa DIVISION, Wakiso district. A quantitative method was used in gathering and analyzing the data. For this purpose, questionnaires were distributed to male and female students of St. Mary’s secondary school Mutungo, WAKISO district. The results were obtained from forty nine randomly selected students show that troubles with girlfriend or boyfriend is the major cause of stress followed by examinations. Basing on research findings, students over argue that they feel headache and anxiety when stressed,Most of students ranked their classroom concentration low considering their responses about how they felt when stressed. In the questionnaire administered to students about the stress overcoming measures, engaging in games and sports activities and having enough break time were most frequently pointed out.
