Abstract
The topic of the study was “Procurement Planning and Operational Efficiency in National Forestry Authority, Uganda”. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between procurement planning and operational efficiency in National Forestry Authority. It was guided by three objectives, viz: to determine the level of procurement planning in National Forestry Authority, to determine the level of operational efficiency in National Forestry Authority and to establish whether there is a significant relationship between procurement planning and operational efficiency in National Forestry Authority. The research design was descriptive co-relation in that it was interested in relating procurement planning and operational efficiency. A sample size of 134 respondents was selected from employees of in National Forestry Authority. The researcher found out that the level of procurement planning in National Forestry Authority was high with (mean = 3.15) and the level of operational efficiency in NFA was high with (mean = 2.82). In terms of relationship between procurement planning and operational efficiency in National Forestry Authority, the researcher found out that there is a positive relationship between Procurement Planning and Operational Efficiency in National Forestry Authority (r 0.418). The researcher therefore concluded that in order to increase the efficiency of NFA, there is a need to improve on procurement planning.
