Abstract
The purpose of this study is to access the role of schools in maintaining discipline in selected secondary school in Kabarnet Division Barungo District Kenya. The researcher sampled out seven schools out of the thirteen schools in the division and designed questionnaires that were used to collect the data. The respondents were head teachers and teachers of the schools that the questionnaires were sent to. In the schools the researcher used random sampling to get the respondents who were to fill the questionnaires. In Kenya student misconduct is prevalent in schools. Although this seems to be a new phenomenon attributed to availability of television and video programs. Students discipline has grown into an epidemic in African schools because of culturally irrelevant strategies and employed. The researcher summarized the findings in tables, pie-charts, bar graphs, then analyzed interpreted them. The researcher recommends that all teachers to be given authority to administer any kind of disciplinary measures without any discrimination.
