Abstract
The study was entitled to the Effects of employee supervision on the organization’s performance in Nansana Municipal Council Wakiso District. The study was guided by three major objectives namely; to find out various means which organizations use to supervise their employees, to find out the best effective mechanism of supervising employees by their employers and to find out the effects of employee supervision on the organization’s performance. The study used both qualitative and quantitative data design. The findings of the study was that each supervising mechanism has a disadvantage and an advantage depending on the environment it is being used in, the people it is being applied on as well as the intended purpose for that supervising mechanism and that supervision of employees ensures quality of work, reduces employee absenteeism and it is a motivational tool for employees to understand their weakness and strength while at work. The study recommended that organizations should always carry out employee supervision to get good results; supervisors should always asses the advantages and disadvantages of a particular supervising mechanism before it is recommended for use. Supervisors should also assess the effects of each mechanism and know which one to use in order to attain best results. The study concluded that indeed supervision of employees at work places is very vital in ensuring quality and effective performance of organizations and in order for companies to yield much from its employees there is need to have middle managers to coordinate employees.
