Abstract
The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between on-line marketing and sales performance in MTN Kampala Uganda. The study was guided by four objectives namely, determining the demographic characteristics of respondents, the level of on-line marketing, level of sales performance and determining whether there was a significant relationship between on-line marketing and sales performance in MTN Kampala Uganda. The study comprised of a population of 100 respondents, and a descriptive research design was used to collect data from 80 respondents using self-administered questionnaires as the main data collection instrument. The level of on-line marketing was generally high (mean=2.96), which implied that online marketing has always helped MTN company to improve on its customer services, the level of sales performance was also generally high (mean of 3.02) which implied that MTN Uganda limited always earn abnormal profits from the goods and services rendered to the customers compared to other competitors and the two variables are positive and significantly correlated ( R-value=.473 and sig=0.000), this means rejecting the null hypothesis that there was a significant relationship between on-line marketing and sales performance in MTN Kampala Uganda. Arising from the findings, appropriate recommendations and areas of further research were made. Recommendations based on findings were that; the management of MTN Uganda should highly apply email marketing because its flexible method of communication your company uses, should improve more on the services such as mobile money and internet rendered to its customers and always carry out sales forecasting every after month.
