Abstract
This study was set out to establish the extent to which community participation and project success in selected non-governmental organizations in Puntland Somalia. Specifically the study wanted to establish the effect of (i) profile of the respondents, (ii) level of Microfinance community participation (iii) level of project success (iii) whether there is a relationship in the level community participation and project success in selected non-governmental organizations in Puntland, Somalia. The study used a survey design; specifically descriptive correlation and data were collected from 140 respondents using self-administered questionnaires as the key data collection instruments, Data were analyzed at univariate level using frequency counts and summary statistical package. The study findings revealed that there was a high level of local\international organization’s services, there was also high/good level of project success, the level of community participation and project success is significantly correlated and there is good relationship between them. From the above findings appropriate conclusions and recommendations including those for further research were made. Recommendations from the study were: (I) Non-governmental organizations should state their goals clearly and ensure that they achieve their goals by ensuring that they fully understand the set goals and objectives, (ii) Local\international should improve project delivery which is the best driving factor for enhancing project success,
