The study Consumer Protection Law in Uganda: Adequacy of the laws governing consumer protection in Uganda, has been carried out with specific objectives of finding out whether the laws relating to consumer protection in Uganda adequately protect the consumers. This was established by exploring the background and development of Consumer Protection Law, the different laws relating to consumer protection in Uganda, looking at the rights of the consumers and the different problems faced by the consumers of goods and services. It was established in the study that though consumer protection can first be traced be traced in the natural economy, in Uganda today the law on consumer protection is still lacking a lot. It is worth noting that Uganda a country that gained independence thirty years ago has still failed to enact A Consumer Protection Act, which is one of the reasons as to why the consumers of goods and services are still facing various problems. It was further established that the existing provisions that provide for consumer protection in Uganda are scattered in different Acts of parliament but to make it worse majority of the consumers are not educated, in other words they are not informed about the laws that provide for consumer protection. The study shows that the rights of the consumers are abused which cause a lot of problems to the consumers of goods and services and most of them go unaddressed due to the ignorance of the consumersen_US
