Abstract
This study was on the leadership styles and job performance of teachers in secondary schools in former Bushenyi District that is Igara, Sheema, Ruhinda, Buhweju and Rubirizi. The objectives of the study was to establish the influence of Democratic leader style of secondary school headteachers in Bushenyi District , autocratic leadership style and laissez fair leadership styles on job performance of teachers in Bushenyi district and to access the relationship between headteachers leadership styles and job performance of teachers Bushenyi district. Data was collected using self administered questionnaires to the staff and entered in the computer and analyzed using statistical package for social scientists (SPSS). Cross-sectional survey was used 400 teachers were selected randomly from the target population of 1734 (using sloven’s formula) presented in t he tables and correlated accordingly. The findings was teacher job poor performance, schools do not perform well in other aspects of education.
