dc.description.abstract | The researcher carried out the research; green purchasing and organizational performance at British oxygen company Uganda. Green purchasing is increasingly becoming the way to reduction of environmental impact by organizations in different countries. This prompted the researcher to conduct a study in this area. The recent global meeting on climate change at Copenhagen in Denmark, is a clear indication that there is need to bring on board practices that reduce emissions to the atmosphere. We are seeing shift from the use of convection products and practices, towards greener product and practices which are friendlier to the environment. The introduction of nitrogen drive vehicles and the use of biofuels in the aviation industry are good examples; the world is in a transition period. Stratified sampling will be used to sample the respondents and a Questionnaire was the main in strument used in data collection. The questioners were self administered. The researcher analyzed the findings using tables, graphs, percentages, and pie charts. The information ls presented is in line with the objectives set by the researcher. In conclusion, the findings came out in support of green purchasing, tire practice the world is moving towards. Perfo1mance of organization practicing green purchasing has improved since the customers of today are increasingly becoming environment conscious. | en_US |
