Abstract
This study was carried to investigate the learning styles utilized by the gifted and talented
students in selected school in Teso district- Kenya. Data was collected through the use of
interviews accompanied by observation and questionnaires. The study involved a sample
of 40 respondents that is 12 teachers and 28 students from Kamunuoit Primary school;
these were all involved in the school's curriculum activities at different levels.
The study found that students who are gifted and talented in selected school perform
better than those who are not, since they are able to understand first and they do not waste
time for teachers as in explaining to th,em detailed compared to the ones who are not
gifted and talented who are provided with learning resources like; abacus, counting sticks
among other.
It was concluded that gifted and talented students in selected school have got higher
opportunities for performing well compared to the ones who are not gifted and talented
because they have different Intelligence Quotient (I.Q).
Finally, a number of recommendations were made like; teachers and parents should
educate their children especially the ones who are not gifted and talented in order to
increase on their levels of performance in class work. Let them know about the academic
performance among pupils has an impact on their future career, which may result into
improved standards of livings.
