(Kampala International University, College of Humanities and social Science, 2021-05) Abdirahman, Said Abdisalam
The study was set to investigate the effect of Risk management on project success of school feeding programme of world food programme, Garowe, Somalia. The study was guided by the following objectives: (i). to examine the effect of Risk identification on project success of WFP School Feeding Programme, Garowe-Somalia, (ii) to examine the effect of Risk assessment on project success of WFP School Feeding Programme, Garowe-Somalia, and (iii) to assess the effect of risk monitoring on project success of WFP School Feeding Programme, Garowe-Somalia. The study was guided by the Prospect theory is a theory of decision-making under conditions of risk. The study used a cross-sectional research design, the goal of collecting this data is to examine the relationship of a specific target point. However from the population of 180 respondents, a sample size of 124 respondents was selected by the use of the Slovene’s formula. The study used both Interviews and Questionnaires as the Research Instruments. From study findings it was found out that Risk identification alone had no significant effect on the Project success of the WFP School Feeding Programme Garowe, Somalia. This also means that the rest of the factors influence Project success other than Risk Monitoring. Furthermore the researcher established that Risk assessment had a significant effect on project success of WFP School Feeding Programme. This implies that Risk assessment accounts for project success of WFP School Feeding Programmes by a high contribution. By this implication it means that effective managers invest resources (financial and human) to manage the risks which can arise by the policy of feeding programme. By this implication it means that WFP staffs have understood that managing risk has an implication on projects success and they make this their main job. Finally from the study findings and conclusion made the study recommended that the Risk identification contribution to Project success was low, so there is need for management at WFP need to understand that a programmes image is based upon a unique experience to provide an acute environment for project success. And that is as it should be. Your existing aims are among the most important assets of the project. In one way or another, this will boost the corporate image and project success of WFP School Feeding Programme.
