    Material resource planning and effective purchasing: a case study in Crown Beverages Limited Uganda

    The research was set to investigate the relationship between material resource planning and effective purchasing in crown beverages -Uganda. Its objectives were to evaluate the level material resource planning system, to establish the level of purchasing effectiveness, and to investigate the relationship between materials resource planning and effective purchasing in Crown beverages. The finding found out that effective material resource planning help to control inventory levels and schedule replenishment. Material resource planning promotes effective inventory management and guides the coordination of materials at different stages of production process. This concurs with Larson, and De Marais (1999) who states that material resource planning promotes effective inventory management which helps to keep enough inventories to meet customer demand and guarantee availability while at the same time be cost-effective and avoid carrying excessive buffer stocks Findings above revealed a positive and significant relationship between material resource planning and effective purchasing at 0.05 level of significance. Under the relationship between the material resources planning and effective purchasing the research found out that there was a positive relationship under these two variables at 0.05 level of significance.
