    Women emancipation and domestic violence in communities of Kawempe and Bwaise

    The research focuses on women emancipation and domestic violence against women in Kampala district, a case study of Kawempe and Bwaise communities, it enlightens the public about the different causes of domestic violence such as alcoholism, mental and psychological problems, marital disorders, jealousy and social stress and infidelity in men. The research focuses on 110 respondents who have helped in data gathering for the accomplishment of the research objectives. This research was carried out in Kampala district and most respondents sampled were women who provided sufficient and reliable information to the researcher, according to the respondents, domestic violence carries overwhelming effects such as torture marks or burnouts, family abandonment, mental stress, among others. These effects have been experienced by every domestically violated woman and the research in chapter four highlights the quantitative results of the research. Although domestic violence has for long tormented women around the world, solutions and measures to curb this problem have been put in place such as low enforcement, lethal assessment, safety priorities, among other measures, this has all been done to overcome domestic violence in Kampala District and Uganda in general. The conclusions, summary and remarks have been made in this research to help domestically violated women and also eradicate violence against women in Uganda.
