    The influence of non-governmental organizations in humanitarian assistance in rural Uganda: a case study of Kaptanya sub county, Kapchorwa district

    The research on the influence of NGOS in humanitarian assistance in Uganda was carried out from Kaptanya sub county in Kapchorwa district; The research was guided by the objectives of the study, to find out the roles of NGOs in humanitarian assistance in Uganda, to find out the possible ways of improvising the performance of NGOs in humanitarian assistance in Uganda. On finding out the role of NGOs in humanitarian assistance in Uganda, the research revealed that, relief aid in emergencies, infrastructure development, provision of education and health and sanitation services were the answers given by the respondents. To find out the challenges faced by the NGOs in humanitarian assistance in Uganda, the finding revealed that, inadequate funding, corruption, political instability and government regulations were the answers given by the respondents. The find out the ways of improving the performance of the NGOs in offering the humanitarian assistance .in Uganda; increased funding, improvement Government-NGO relations ,promotion of political stability, fighting corruption and encouraging registration of more NGOs were basically the answers given by the respondents. I the researcher therefore concluded that, the Non-governmental organization plays a greater role in both economic growth and development although they do encounter a lot of operational challenges
