- ItemPornography and moral uprightness of children in Mbarara Municipality- Uganda(Kampala International University; College of Humanities and Social Science, 2010-10) Ecik, Martin B.The study, pornography and children's uprightness in Mbarara Municipality Uganda was carried out to establish relationship between pornography and moral uprightness in children in Mbarara Municipality, Mbarara District. The study was guided by the following objectives. To determine whether children in Mbarara Municipality have got access to pornography; determine relationship between pornography and moral uprightness of children in Mbarara Municipality, to determine how pornography affects moral uprightness of children in Mbarara Municipality and to determine the relationship between pornography and children's social life in Mbarara Municipality. The study used a casual comparative research design that looked at the course and effects of the variables and also because it was a survey study involving a large sample. The study concluded that there was significant relationship between pornography and children's uprightness in; Mbarara Municipality. The study recommended that parents must double their efforts to provide for sound moral formation for children a youth which include inculcation of healthy attitudes towards the human sexuality based on respect for the dignity of every person as a child of God, on the basis of chastity and on the practice of self-discipline. The study also recommended that communications companies must join in formulating or applying ethical codes for communications media and for advertising which respect the common good and promote sound human development. The study further recommended that schools and other educators should support and inculcate the social and ethical values that promote the unity and health of families and of society itself. The study lastly recommended that sound laws should be made where they are lacking as a response by legislators, administrators, law enforcement officials and jurists to the problem.
