    Behavior modification techniques and learning adjustment of students in selected secondary schools in Turkana South District, Kenya

    The research thesis purposed to find the signitlcanc~ of Behavior Modification Techniques on the Learning Adjustments of selected secondary school students. A significant population of teachers and students in five selected secondary schools in Turkana South district, constiwted the study population of 507 accessible populations A relatively precise sample of 210 students’ and 56 teachers’ respondents was randomly selected (Slovene’s formula), fairly reaching the prescriberj mark. In order to collect data a standardized questionnaire was developed and personally administered. The researcher used descriptive research method, the purpose being to describe the nature of the situation as it exists and explore the relationship between Behavior Modification Techniques and Learning Adjustment of the learners. The data obtained was tabulated; analyzed and interpreted using SPSS. The frequency percentage tables for profile of respondents means for variables and Pearson’s Linear Correlation Coefficient (PLCC) for correlation. On the basis of results and discussions it was concluded that a reasonable number of teachers and students were aware of the behavior modification techniques. The entire study revealed that some teachers were aware of the Behavior Modification Techniques and Learning Adjustment mechanisms it is then recommended that all teachers be conversant with Behavior Modification Techniques and there effective usage to provide fertile grounds for learners’ enhancement.
