    Analysis of the contribution of micro finance institutions towards poverty alleviation among the rural poor: a case study of Buwama Sub County - Mpigi District.

    The major aim of the study was to analyze the contributions ofMF!s towards the poverty reduction among the rural poor areas as a case study ofBuwama Sub County. The sample size of I 00 respondents, 20 from each parish was involved. The data was collected using qualities method to come up with interpretations and findings. The data was analyzed basing on the themes and sub - themes developed from the literature review and different tables were used. It was discovered that most of the people in Buwama Sub County had knowledge about the contributions of MFis towards the poverty reduction among the rural poor areas. It was analyzed that the elderly and women knows more about these roles ofMFls but lack the men's support. This was seen in different areas where research was carried out. If MF ls roles are to be recognized, women's subordination over men should be reduced in order to enhance rural area and increase their participation in rural area thus poverty reduction among the rural poor.
