To comprehend the problem of the study, literature on specific objectives was reviewed. A descriptive exploratory design in which both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to solicit data through use of questionnaires and interview guide from children, parents, NGOs field employees and community leaders, all of whom constituted a sample of 70 respondents. The causes of children rights violation were identified as; poverty, vulnerability of children, witchcraft, negligent parenting, separation of children from their parents, HIV/ AIDS prevalence and the background of the abuser and the effects were psychological, immorality, spread of sexually transmitted diseases, poor nutrition/health, early pregnancies, increased street children, school dropouts, deaths and formation of child headed households. NGOs played roles of counseling and psychosocial support, networking among NGOs, training of volunteers, sensitization campaigns, lobbying for government support and the rehabilitation of the abused children whereas government intervention measures included; education reforms, identification of child headed household, legal framework alterations, improved living conditions of a child and police involvement through child protection unit. The study concluded that, the community and the local authority were not adequately sensitized into child rights and the protection of the children and for this reason do not volunteer to rescue the situation and thus leave the local councils to handle cases of child abuse with injustice which highly contributes to children mistreatment leading to school dropout, immorality, deaths among others and thus great need for government intervention. The study recommended; coordination and advocacy meetings between NGOs, facilitations of supportive organizations to attend radio programs, support supervision by government and maintaining an update of vulnerable children records and documentation of their violations, as well as logistical support to children's clubs advocating for children's rights.
