    Women Participation in politics and socio-economic Development in Nigeria

    The title of the study was the relationship between women participation in politics and their socio economic development. It was guided by these four objectives; (i)to determine the profile of the respondents in respect to age, gender, level of education ii) Determine the level of women participation in politics iii)determine the level of socio economic development of women, iv) the significant relationship between the level of women participation in politics and their level of socio economic development. The study sample was 92, respondents, Using a descriptive correlation survey design, the study found out that there is satisfactory level of women participation in politics The findings showed no significant relationship between the level of women participation in politics and the level of socio economic Development. Based on the findings of the study, the following are recommended; There is need of facilitating the active engagement of the female population in economic activities in unlimited fields of endeavor. This can be done by ensuring access to business capital, extension, and other business development services for female entrepreneurs by deliberate government policy and programs. This should be intended to enable women have access to resources that can help them developed in the county
