The study was a case study of Yei county in central Equatoria state south Sudan. The total number of the study participants was 115. The study populations involved were individual women, local government administrators, central government support staff, and NGOs staff. Data used quantitative and qualitative methods such as interview, observation, and questionnaires. Data collected was analyzed by use of SPSS for quantitative data while qualitative data was manually analyzed. The study analyzed the major findings on the coping mechanisms adopted by women. The study confirmed that women resorted to farming systems as the main coping mechanisms adopted by women in an attempt to fight against the challenges of poverty in Yei County. The study recommends that women be assisted to carry out profitable agriculture as a coping strategy to fight poverty.
