Clinic Web based Management Information System in the Bank of Kigali
(Kampala International University, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, 2011-05) Jean, Claude Mutabazi
Clinic Web based Information System In The Bank Of Kigali is a scientific work undertaken in Bank of Kigali (BK) throughout the year 2010. Actually BK has got 30 branches countrywide apart from the headquarter. It has 978 permanent staff in all the services. So BK has adopted a good strategy of taking care of its employees by creating a clinic service which takes care of the staff health. For quick and good service delivering the clinic needs to install a system that will facilitate the management of information related to patient’s consultations, transfers and drug store management. Hence, this survey was taken up to solve the problem of clinic data processing and data storage so that to install a system that facilitate communication to the bank staff. As for any information system, the study and implementation of BK clinic information system was based on a certain methodology First of all, the clinic ergonomic was studied to determine who the system potential integrators (users) were. From these integrators a population sample was determined (90 people) from which the necessary information on how works the clinic manual system were gathered. Interview with these people were guided by a pre-established questionnaire in the appendix of this document. The gathered information were used afterwards in the system modeling using tools like: data flow diagram, flow chart, the object role modeling and the entity relationship diagram. Finally, the new web base information system was designed using programming languages like HTML, PHP, Java scripts and tools like Dreamweaver to design the actual user graphic interfaces (UGI) with dynamic web pages and as well as Mysql database for data storage. The analysis carried out on the clinic activities permitted to distinguish 4 types of system users. Each user has got specific privileges to be able to access the vii program, to enter data, print or view report and interact with other users using the Internet connection. Brief, for the good management of the system, BK has to appoint an IT officer in charge of the clinic service to assist clinic staff in using the system and maintain it whenever necessary.
