    Web -based students’ academic management system; a case of school of computer studies Kampala International University

    By the year 2000, academic, administration and management was based of file based records where information was stored in files. Data redundancy, ambiguity and wastage of time came out as a hindrance to the whole system due to poor record management. Student records were stored under a format where each student had to inquire for academic material which could waste a lot of time given a big number of students. A new system was implemented in order to capture and avail information to the entire school with announcements, study materials, examination results information, time table and any changes that may arise from the study curriculum during the course of the study time, To Investigate and identify requirements for the Web-Based Academic Management System, to design a Web-Based Academic Management System, to develop a system for the Web Based Academic Management System. Capturing of data enabled research to take place whereby tools used included questionnaires, interviews and observation methods to correct data from respondents. It was found that 60% of the students who took the questioners proposed the new implemented system. Hence the system was implemented
