    Teachers’ involvement in institutional goal setting and teachers’ performance in selected secondary schools in Magena Division, Kenyenya District Kisil County.

    The title of the study was Teachers’ involvement in institutional goal setting and teachers’ Performance in Magena Division secondary schools. It was guided by these four objectives; (i)to determine the profile of the respondents in respect to age, gender, level of education and teaching experience ii) Determine the level of Teachers’ involvement in institutional goal setting iii)determine the level of teachers’ performance, iv) determine the relationship between the level of teachers’ involvement in goal setting and level teachers’ performance. The study sample was 90, consisting of all teachers in the 5 selected schools Using a descriptive survey design, the study found out that there is satisfactory level of teachers’ involvement in institutional goal setting, there is also satisfactory levels of teachers’ performance in secondary schools in Magena division Kenyenya District. The findings showed a strong positive significant relationship between the level of Teachers’ involvement in institutional goal setting and the level of teachers’ performance. Based on the findings of the study, the following are recommended that; The school administrations should always make it a point to invite teachers to participate in setting school goal, aims and objectives so as to improve their performance. The government should enact policies that will ensure that teachers’ views, ideas and inputs ~re included in the general running of a school. The individual teachers should have personal goals, departmental goals and institutional goals and all these should be compatible with the school goals and objectives,
