    Factors Affecting Physics Performance in Secondary Schools in Buikwe Sub-County, Mukono District By

    The researcher, set out to investigate the factors affecting physics performance in Secondary school in Buikwe sub-county, Mukono District, Uganda. The researcher has set out to investigate the background of the study, statement of the problem, hypothesis significance of the study, and scope of the study. The study will benefit all government officials, teachers, parents and especially students m secondary schools. In chapter two relevant study literature has been identified which guided the researcher to come up with valid and reliable research findings. Chapter three has provided qualitative and quantitative methods that were applied during data collection and data presentations from teachers, Head teachers, Parents and students. In four data collected has been presented and it was discovered that lack of qualified teaching staff, lack of apparatus in laboratory, students attitudes towards physics subject, and others are responsible as factors affecting physics performance. Chapter five provides a clear recommendation that government, teachers, students and parents need to work in cooperation such that the factors affecting physics as a subject can be minimized. All in all joint effort will help to improve on poor performance in physics and also eradicate some problems which are affecting it.
