The study at finding the factors affecting performance in English at Kenya Certificate of Primary Education among learners with learning difficulties. The objectives of the study are to determine why learners perform poorly at KCPE. It also investigates the teaching and learning approaches used in teaching English in our schools and to involve stakeholders in provision of services and resources to improve the performance of learners. The research covered Kisanana Zone of Koibatek district. The data was collected using questionnaires and checklist using a population of pupils, teachers, Head teachers and education officers. Thereafter the data was organized and analyzed to give meaningful outcome to the provided answers to the concern of parents of the schools concerned. The recommendations to parents, teachers are that they should give maximum support to the learners with learning difficulties in order for them to perform well in English. The ministry of education should deploy more teachers experienced and trained in English. In conclusion, it is true that the causes of poor performance of English in KCPE are lack of teachers, poor teaching and learning approaches and lack of resources such as relevant books written in a simplified way that enables learners with learning difficulties to understand well the English subject.
