    Police links Makerere students to strikes in other universities.

    The Police is investigating a group of students of Makerere University accused of masterminding strikes in other universities. The Police spokesman, Fred Enanga, told journalists during the weekly police briefing in Kampala, that a group of students was being investigated over alleged links with strikes in several other universities.

    Two private universities closed

    Two private universities, which have been operating on provisional licenses, have been closed by National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). The Council which is mandated by the Government and law to manage institutions of higher learning, through it's executive Director Prof. Mary Okwakol, revealed that two universities have been closed.
