    Vanilla production and farmer's welfare in Nagojje Sub County Mukono District

    The study was intended to determine the impact of vanilla production on the welfare farmers in Nagojje Sub County, Mukono District. In the review of related literature, all secondary sources viewed relevant to the study were re-visited. The study employed a descriptive design and questionnaires together with interview guides .formed the mina tools for data collection. Data collected was sorted, edited, coded and presented in percentages and .frequency distribution tables. The findings from the study revealed that vanilla production had transformed many of the .farmers within the area of stuc6' and farmers, community leaders and the government as well had to applaud its contribution towards human development. Households had the ability to meet the fees requirements for their children, the basics in life could be attained and the general welfare of the masses within Nagoje had been changed as a result of Vanilla production. It was recommended that: Government should carry out more research on vanilla plants like inter cropping by considering the most appropriate plant population through spacing. Farmers need to be advised on the better crop and tree management practices so as not to affect production of other crops.
