    Govt yet to increase lecturers pay

    Public university lecturers are up in arms over the delay by the public service ministry to enhance their pay despite a directive by President Yoweri Museveni two months ago. The President directed the ministry to deliver on his commitment to increase salaries of academic staff in universities. According to the directive, a university professor should be paid sh15m and a lecturer sh12.2m.

    The Education Ministry has warned private institutions against assessing and issuing learning with fake certificates.The First lady and Minister for Education and Sports, Mrs Janet Museveni said the illegal practice has been brought to the attention of the ministry by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT).

    Students to apply for loans online

    Darius Ayebazibwe travelled about 10km from Kyamajumba village to Centenary Bank in Ntungamo town to pick student loan application forms in 2017.He had recommendation letters from LC1 and LC3 and obtained duplicates of his academic documents from Primary seven to Senior six.
