    Drug abuse and its effects on learning in secondary schools in Siakago division Mbeere district, Kenya

    There have been great concerns on the rising levels of drug abuse in secondary schools. To this end the objectives of this study was to find out the types, source and effects of drugs abuse in secondary schools. In such a case the study was guided by the following research questions; (i) What types of drugs are commonly abused by students in our secondary schools? (ii) Where do these drugs come from? (iii) How do these drugs affect students' learning process? (iv) How can drug abuse be eliminated in these secondary schools? The main objectives of this study are to investigate the types of drugs, their source and how they affect learning process in secondary schools in Siakago Division of Mbeere District. The researcher will try to identify the types of drugs available for abuse by students in schools in Siakago division Mbeere district. The researcher will identify the sources of the drugs that the students abuses in the schools and will also try to determine the effects on student learning process that means how this drugs adversely affects the students in their Endeavour to learn in this schools. The research will also try to find out the ways of curbing access to drugs by students so that learning is not affected in these schools.
