    Strategic planning and performance in united bottling company Mogadishu-Somalia

    In this study, the researcher studied the relationship between strategic planning and performance in UBC Somalia. The study was guided by the following objectives; To determine the planning process in UBC, To describe the consequence of poor planning In UBC, To determine the relationship between planning and business performance in UBC, To determine if the employees participation in planning activities in UBC The study population was 50 & which all were selected with the use of validated instrument; the four research questions were answered. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency and percentage and correlation (Pearson Moment). The study revealed that the staff of UBC Somalia Is 80% male while female are 20% and the majority of the respondents are within the age bracket of 20-30, 52% of the respondents are secondary level and 54% of the respondents are single. Finding from the objectives shows that there is a relationship between strategic planning and performance in UBC Somalia as indicated in the study (r=0.826). Implying that planning has direct effect on the performance of the operations of the business. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended that UBC Somalia should practice strategic planning in broad scale, explore various Alternatives, and place an emphasis on the future implications of present decisions. UBC should use non-returnable packaging since it’s the appropriate for the situation in UBC and UBC Somalia should train staff in the planning process and listen to the employee’s contribution. Arid Staff must participate in the planning activities.
