    Teaching strategies and learning styles in selected secondary schools in Mogadishu city, Somalia

    The study was about teaching strategies and learning styles in secondary schools in Mogadishu, Somalia. It was guided by five objectives: determining the demographic characteristics of the respondents in terms of: (1)gender, age, highest level of education, Years of teaching experience and teaching position;(2) to determine the extent to which to identified teaching strategies are used in secondary schools;(3) to determine the extent to which to identified learning styles are used in secondary schools;(4) and to establish the relationship between the extent of the use of teaching strategies and the extent of use of learning styles in selected secondary schools. Using descriptive correlational survey design, the study employed a sample of 150 of ten selected secondary schools in Mogadishu Somalia. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the respondent were male, that the extent of teaching strategies in selected secondary schools was fair. The third objective indicated that the extent of learning styles was fair; teaching strategies and learning styles in selected secondary schools are significantly correlated. It was recommended that the secondary schools have to train their employees and as well as managers and use of ICT and technological infrastructure in their schools.
