Design and implementation of an intelligent voice controlled wheel chair:
(Kampala International University, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, 2018-09) Mugeni, Alfred.; Niwamanya, Peter
This project report describes the Design and implementation of an Intelligent Voice Controlled Wheel Chair for disabled people. The model utilizes an Arduino Voice Recognition Module interfaced with a high level 8-Mt AVR Microcontroller to control motorized movements using voice commands. The model provides both a convenient and non-technical solution to navigate in a disabled home for even the critically crippled who can talk. To avoid uncontrolled collisions, the wheel chair includes collision avoidance capabilities based on HC-SRO4 Ultrasound Modules. • Chapter one-IntroductIon: ft gives a briefintroduction and background ofthis project. • Chapter two-LIterature revIew: ft gives an overview oftechniques involving wheel chairs, existing wheel chair technologies and overview ofdevices used. Chapter three-Methodology: ft explains about the system design i.e. architecture and interfacing ofthe devices used. Chapter four-Results and discussion: Describes the results and output ofthe system. Chapter fIve-RecommendatIon and conclusion: ft gives the recommendation and conclusion drawn from this project.
