    Information Technology and Sustainable Tourism Development of Selected Museums in Kampala-Uganda.

    The study was about information technology and sustainable tourism development in selected museums of Kampala-Uganda. The study was based on the following four objectives; to determine the respondents profile in terms of age, gender, level of education, marital status and experience: to establish the level of effectiveness of information technology in the selected museums of Kampala-Uganda; to determine the level of sustainable tourism development in the selected museums of Kampala-Uganda; and to establish if there is a significant relationship bct\\een information technology and sustainable tourism development in the selected museums ol· l(ampala-Uganda. A sample of 667 respondents both female and male selected museums' employees and their tourists were used for the study. The study employed a case study research design and methodology used was both qualitative and quantitative. Questionnaires and documentary review were the major tools of data collection. In regard to level of effectiveness of information technology at selected museums, it was revealed by majority 50.00% strongly agreed that selected museums use visitor management techniques when determining carrying c1pncit) to be reach its threshold by monitoring visitor flows and controlling tourist numbers. majority 46.67% agreed that selected museums use alternative approaches to tourism carrying capacity by using planning frameworks which focus on sustaining the social and biophysical rc·sources rather than setting limits to tourist numbe1·s. In regard to level of sustainable tourism dndopment. majority 43.33% agreed that the destination is able to absorb the number of visitors mtllllul damage to the environment, community or visitor experience, majority 58.33% agreed that the central authority takes mandatory measures to reduce environmental degradation.
