    Effect of remedial teaching on pupils' academic performance in Kitise Zone, Makueni District, Kenya

    This study was intended to establish the relationship between attending holiday tuitions and change in academic performance of learners in schools. All secondary sources including journals and other relevant publications were used in the collection related literature. The study employed a descriptive design and in this case questionnaires and interview guides were employed in the collection of data. The findings of the study revealed that holiday tuition has an impact on the academic performance of students in schools at the secondary level. The recommendations were made and these called for: Using student-centered teaching approaches, using meaningful activities in their classrooms ,promoting conceptual understanding in all subjects. emphasizing process rather than product during problem-solving sessions, Promoting collaborative learning in science classes. Helping students to develop a positive attitude towards sciences. Motivating students in their learning of sciences. Enhancing the science achievement of all students.Promoting equity in education.
