    Procurement department and organizational performance:

    Organizations rely on effective Procurement department to ensure that they acquire quality goods and services that are able to respond to demand of its staffs and customers. Procurement specialists initially determine range of quantity and quality that an organization will need for its operation for a given period of time. The topic of this research was to find out the relationship between Procurement department and Organizational performance at St, Francis Hospital Nsambya. The population of the study was eighty persons. A sample size of forty was used by simple stratified sampling and purposive sampling procedure. The data for the study were collected through questionnaires and interviews. The main outcome of this study shows that Procurement department of St. Francis Nsambya Hospital has a great role to the Organizational performance. It enables better acquisition of goods and services, quality and cost management, better accountability, high level of professionalism including promotion of transparency and good image of the Organization. This is evidenced by a positive roles played by Procurement procedures and methods on the Organizational performance at St, Francis Hospital Nsambya. However the study also noted a number challenges faced by the Procurement department of St, Francis Hospital Nsambya these were: - delayed funding, lack of skilled capacity, lack of supplier base, management policies and macro policies among others. Although the major ones were macro policies and delayed funding
