    The impacts of the electronic media usage on the youth in central Uganda. a case study of Makindye division

    The research aims at assessing the impacts of electronic media usage on youth in central Uganda in particularly Makindye division as a case study. Both qualitative and quantitative techniques will be used. The qualitative techniques will be presented by use oftables·and converted to percentages according to the themes and the data collection method will include interviews, observation, questionnaires and the data will be descriptive in nature. The objective of the study is to examine the major effects of electronic media on youth in central Uganda. It aims at establishing the existing efforts by relevant stakeholders toward the prevention of media violence. The sample size will be 160 respondents, who will represent the whole population in Makindye. Therefore the responsibility of establishing an operating social protection mechanism lies with the whole society and the immediate response must come from the informal and formal sides, media owners, private and public sectors must combine their strengths under the supervision of the central coordinating authority.
