- ItemAssessment of Health-care Resources and Health-care service Dellvery in Amolatar District(Kampala International University, College of Economics and Management, 2011-07) Otile, PatrickQuality of health-care services in Amolatar district has remained poor, dominated by limited access to health-care services, poor hygiene and sanitary practices, inadequate health-care resources, logistics and supplies which have resulted to high morbidity rate, despite efforts that have been made to revamp health-care service delivery. The study focussed on the assessing the quantity and quality of health-care resources in the names of Drugs, medical equipment and medical personnel to provide the health-care services. A co-relational study design using quantitative and qualitative approaches to derive meanings from both qualitative and quantitative data was used. The research instruments used to obtain data during this study composed of Questionnaire, Interview Guide structured for health facility In-charges on assessment of available health-care resources and health-care service delivery, while documentary analysis was done for triangulation purpose. Data collection was guided by research questions, objectives and the three main themes; drugs supply, medical equipment and health personnel. A total of 50 respondents were purposively sampled from the departments of the selected health centres and district health office, considering their knowledge and experience on the variables of study, distributed across various health professional qualifications ranging from nurses to medical doctors. Results of the study and analysis showed that availability of health-care resources made significant contributions to the prediction of health-care service delivery.
