    Political Decentralization and Its Effect On local Government Administration of Selected Districts in Somaliland

    The study investigated the relationship between Political decentralization and its effect on local government administration Somali-land using a case study in selected three local governments in Somali land. The study was guided by the following objectives; to find out the demographic characteristics, to determine the political decentralization, to identify the local government administration and to establish the relationship between political decentralization and its effect on local government administration of selected districts in Somali land. The researcher had used descriptive quantitative correlation research design. Data was collected form sample size of 80 out of 100 respondents. It was also used cross tabulation in order to analyze the demographic characteristics of the respondents; on the other hand, mean was used in order to analyze the relationship between political decentralization and its effect on local government administration of selected districts in Somali land. The study concluded that there is no significant relationship between political decentralization and its effect on local government administration of selected districts in Somali land. Finally, the study recommends that political decentralization should be implemented effectively in Somali land and local government should be in a position to hear the voices of local community and encourage the local residents to take part in decision-making, local policy-making.
