    Causes of poor performance in physics at 0-level in schools Secondary Schools In Kagadi Town Council In Kibaale District

    The study was set to find out cause of poor performance in physics at o-level in secondary schools in kagadi town council in kibaale district The study was guided by the following objectives To find out whether there are enough trained teachers in these schools ii. To find out the methods used in teaching physics in these schools iii. To find out whether there schools have laboratories and adequate science equipments A survey research design made use of collected data 70 respondents were selected. Questionnaires, interviews and documentary analysis were used. Head teacher. teachers. students and oratory attendants were purposively selected as they were key information whole students were selected using simple random sampling. Majority of these secondary schools in the area of the study were found not having enough qualified teachers and in most cases employ licensed teachers and s.6 leavers who do not have professional skills to impart knowledge into the learners. Lack of professional guidance and encouragement was found to be one of the major causes of poor performance in physics and even other subjects. Equally too, they lack the instructional materials such as text books and other teaching also which compiles the teachers to which do not cater for the needs of the learners.
