Work in progress, finished goods and other form of supplies. Inventory should be controlled in order to minimize the cost of production and improve on consumer satisfaction. The study aims at: Establishing the inventory management systems and evaluate the effectiveness. To establish the profitability levels of the industries. To establish the relationship between inventory management systems and profitability of prisons industries. The study has examined inventory management systems using a sample of 40 respondents using like it questionnaires and established the weakness in inventory management systems which is the cause of low profitability of prisons industries and realized the need for improvement.
